After getting pulled from the shelves of nearly every retailer, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is popping up on eBay for some wild prices. One seller has set a "Buy it Now" price of $199.99 for several of his copies while many others have set their "Buy it Now" price up to $99.99. As far as we can see right now, no one is actually bidding that much for copies of this "banned" game. It is amusing what this simple Hot Coffee mod did to an already highly-controversial sequel in a highly-controversial line of games. |

San Andreas will be flying off the store shelves at Wal Mart, Target, and Best Buy -- not by buyers, but by the stores themselves. The ESRB upgraded Grand Theft Auto San Andreas from a "Mature" rating to "AO -- Adults Only." Effectively, they turned an R-rating into an X due to an unauthorized hack which gamers can download off the internet.
The ESRB's short-sightedness could open both them and Rockstar to civil lawsuits. Of course, I'm sure that a "fixed" version of San Andreas will be back in stores before we know it.

After the release of the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Hot Coffee sex patch every anti-gaming crusader is after the game. Everywhere I look there is another article about this San Andreas sex hack that unlocks explicit sex games with your girlfriends in the game.
What they refuse to acknowledge is that San Andreas is rated M for Mature.
That means San Andreas (or any Grand Theft Auto game) was never meant for kids. So whats the big deal here? The Sims and The Sims 2 both had nude patches -- and those games were meant for kids, teens, and adults. I never heard anyone compalin about those hacks that turned it into an X-rated game. American politicians and lawyers aren't about to back off in their attack of video games and computer games. They thrive on the ignorance of the people who put them in office and pay their bills.
Why is hetrosexual fornication more dangerous than AK-47 massacres anyways? Anti Gamer lawyer Jack Thompson has openly accused the ESA of illegal activity -- despite never having won one of his many anti-game lawsuits himself. Jack Thompson sounds completely nuts to me. I think if this guy got a hold of an AK-47 he would go completely bonkers himself (hey, maybe he needs to play a few rounds of San Andreas!)

Word on the street is the creator of Grand Theft Auto is working on a Massively Multiplayer Online Action Game called APB. Will this truely be Grand Theft Auto Online? Its quite possible. The game is split into two sides, basically cops and gangs. Sounds like a great way to keep real thugs off the streets. But don't get too excited, the game isn't scheduled to be released until 2007. |

San Andreas getting good reviews
So far Game Rankings has given Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas a cumulitive ranking of 97%. It would appear that San Andreas is getting no lower than 90%. Gamespy has a bit of San Andreas humor. Gamespot has given San Andreas a 96% and their editor's choice. |

San Andreas hits the shelves
The long awaited sequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is out. PS2 owners can grab their copy today. So far the response has been very positive. IGN has given it a 9.9 of 10, Gamespot 9.6 of 10. |

To fill you in, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the next "GTA3" game. Vice City was a representation of Miami in the 1980s, San Andreas is L.A. today.

We can't for this game to come out. Too bad we won't be seeing it for the PC until at least 2006! I guess we'll just have to drop a few grand and get an HDTV off ebay before then. In the meantime I plan getting my GTA kicks online with Multi Theft Auto: Vice City!
