In a recent interview with Mod HQ, Valve’s Project Manager revealed that new content for Counter Strike Source will soon be released — most notably the maps cs_militia and de_nuke.

“While we haven’t done a significant release for Counter-Strike: Source in a little while, we’ve been continuously building content for it. There are two new maps on the horizon for Counter-Strike: Source, de_nuke, and cs_militia, which will bring the total number of maps we’ve released to 18. The team has also been busy working on getting the rest of the player models built, which we’ll also be releasing soon. November should be a fun month for Counter-Strike: Source fans.“

The “long awaited” Half-Life 2: Lost Coast single player level for HL2 is now available. This level was created to show off the Source engine’s new High-Dynamic Range lighting. If you have already purchased and played Day of Defeat Source then you will have already seen HDR.

The new Doom movie, starring the Rock isn’t doing so well at the box office this week. The movie opened at $15 million but has now dropped to $4.2 million. See it now while you still can.

I had fairly low expectations, and there were even some plans in palce to guide me away from any press after the premier if I didn’t like the movie, so I wouldn’t say something “unproductive”, but I was pleasantly surprised.

No, it isn’t an oscar movie, but it definitely isn’t Super Mario Brothers / Street Fighter / Double Dragon.

I do wish they had kept the true satanic / hellish theme, but I think they did a credible job with their alternate direction

I don’t know how I nearly missed this one — Civilization IV was released October 25th. Its getting excellent reviews. Thats really good news. Sid Meier’s Civilization 2 was rated one of the top computer games of all time by PC Gamer; its good to know that the tradition is being carried on.

Guild Wars players are seeing some creepy graphics for Halloween. All the major towns and guild battle areas have been changed.

I have completely revamped CounterFrag’s design, as you can see on this page. I will slowly be changing over the old content on the site to the new design. There are hundreds of game profiles here. The site was originally done in static html so this is no easy task. I’m looking into a database driven solution to make this work better, but I don’t know what I will ultimately do.
